What you need

2
people
30g Hugo Reitzel red onion pickles
30g HUGO French gherkin rounds
300g ground beef
2burger buns
4slices of bacon
2to 4 slices of cheddar cheese
4to 6 tomato slices
2handfuls of lettuce
500g potatoes (quartered or diced)
2tbsp olive oil
1tsp paprika
1tsp garlic powder (optional)
Barbecue sauce, ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard

How to prepare

1

Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Cut the potatoes into wedges. Toss them with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder (optional), and a little salt.

2

Arrange them on a baking sheet and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. They should be golden brown and crispy. Flip them halfway through baking.

3

Divide the ground beef into 2 equal portions and shape them into patties the size of the buns, pressing down lightly in the center so they stay flat while cooking.

4

Cook the bacon in a skillet or in the oven until crispy. Set aside.

5

Cook the ground beef patties in a skillet to your desired doneness. Add the cheddar to each patty toward the end of cooking to melt it.

6

Cut the burger buns in half and lightly toast them in a skillet or in the oven.

7

On the bottom half of each bun, layer your choice of sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, the patty with melted cheddar and crispy bacon, HUGO sliced pickles and Hugo Reitzel red onion pickles. Top with the top half of the bun.

8

Serve the burgers with the potatoes.
